About the Role
5+ years in political domain social media campaigns
We are looking for an experienced Zonal Lead to own and run the social media campaign for an assigned
zone. The role combines political understanding with hands-on digital campaign execution: leading the
zone team, shaping local narratives, driving engagement and ensuring zone-level activity stays aligned
with the overall campaign strategy.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage the social media campaign for the assigned zone, ensuring alignment with the
central strategy and messaging.
• Build, train and supervise zone-level social media teams, volunteers and district or constituency
coordinators.
• Plan and execute content calendars across Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, YouTube and WhatsApp,
adapted to local issues and languages.
• Identify and amplify local issues, leader activities and ground events through timely, region-specific
content.
• Monitor trends, public sentiment and opposition narratives in the zone, and run rapid-response and
counter-narrative efforts.
• Manage WhatsApp groups, community pages and influencer networks to extend reach and
engagement.
• Coordinate with the central digital, media and research teams for content, approvals and campaign
alignment.
• Track performance using analytics (reach, engagement, sentiment) and share regular zone reports with
leadership.
• Ensure adherence to campaign guidelines, platform policies and applicable election and legal norms.
• Handle sensitive communication and escalate crises or misinformation promptly.
Required Qualifications and Experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing political social media campaigns (party, candidate,
consulting firm or campaign agency).
• Proven experience leading teams and managing multiple districts or constituencies at once.
• Strong understanding of Uttar Pradesh politics, local issues and regional social dynamics.
• Hands-on knowledge of social media platforms, content strategy, and analytics and listening tools.
• Excellent communication skills in Hindi and English; working knowledge of regional dialects is an
advantage.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and maintain confidentiality.
• Bachelor's degree required; a degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Political Science or Digital
Marketing is preferred.
Key Skills
• Narrative Tracking and Strategic Advisory: Tracking political narratives and providing strategic
advice on narrative management and ground-level positioning.
• Political Activity Monitoring: Monitoring day-to-day political activities, tracking developments and
escalations across ground and digital platforms, analysing their impact, and recommending appropriate
strategic actions.
• Political Landscape Mapping: Mapping key political stakeholders, influential leaders, local
organisations, and emerging power centres in each Assembly constituency.
• Leadership Assessment: Evaluating the public image, political influence, organisational reach, and
grassroots connect of key political leaders.
Preferred Skills
• Experience in election campaigns and ground-level mobilisation.
• Content creation and basic video and graphic editing skills.
• Experience with social listening and sentiment analysis tools.
• Willingness to travel within the zone as needed.
Key Competencies
• Team leadership and people management
• Political and local-issue awareness
• Digital campaign strategy and execution
• Rapid response and crisis handling
• Data-driven decision making
• Confidentiality and integrity
